About Dr. David A. Dixon
Born
in Marion, Ohio, Dr. Dixon has stayed close to home for most
of his life, ultimately establishing his practice, Columbus
Family Dental Care - a place of exceptional comfort and quality,
a different kind of dental practice. Dr. Dixon and his team
are committed to excellence and will strive to provide you
with the best possible dental care in a relaxed and caring
environment. His goal is to help you have a healthy, beautiful
smile that makes you look and feel great.
Professional
Dr.
Dixon graduated from Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland,
with a B.A. Degree in Chemistry in 1983. He received his Doctorate
of Dental Surgery Degree from The Ohio State University College
of Dentistry in 1987. After his graduation, he continued at
the university as a clinical instructor in the department of
restorative and prosthetic dentistry until 1992. At the same
time, he was practicing as an associate in a nearby private
practice until he opened his own dental practice at Columbus
Family Dental Care in 1989.
Dr. Dixon is a member of the American Dental Association, the
Ohio Dental Association, the Columbus Dental Society, the American
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Excellence in Dentistry
Study Club (local). He is also a life member of The Ohio State
University College of Dentistry Alumni Association and Delta
Tau Delta, his undergraduate fraternity.
Personal
Dr. Dixon is married to Patty and they have two children, Sean
and Stephanie. After hours, Dr. Dixon enjoys golf, fishing,
movies, reading, and travel. He is also an avid scuba diver.

Samantha Smith -- Office Manager
Samantha has been in the dental field for seven years. Starting out as a dental assistant with our office in 2006, she is now our new office manager. In this position Samantha coordinates our daily business operations while occasionally assisting the doctor chairside. A graduate of Westland High School and the Paul C. Hayes Technical School, she recently became a mother and enjoys being outdoors, playing softball, and spending time with friends and family.

Kathy Dawson -- Insurance Coordinator
In
the dental field for 30 years, Kathy coordinates the office
finances, billing and insurance. She enjoys meeting
new patients and seeing how happy they are with their dental
work. A "small-town girl,"
friendly, and easy-going, Kathy graduated from dental assistant
school at Indiana University/Purdue University in Fort Wayne,
Indiana. She is married with one daughter and one granddaughter.

Dawn (Bunnie) Cook -- Appointment Coordinator
Bunnie enjoys meeting new people everyday, helping them gain
a better understanding of the dental field. She does this by
answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, treatment planning,
filing, billing of electronic claims and insurance. In the
dental field for 11 years, she is a graduate of Geneva High
School. Pleasant and understanding of patients' needs, Bunnie
is married with a son Jake and stepdaughter Danielle. She enjoys
spending time with her family by going camping, gardening and
watching her son play baseball.

Angela Troutman, RDH -- Dental Hygienist
As
a dental hygienist, Angela's responsibilities include completing
prophies, performing sealants, fluoride treatments, scaling
and root planing, as well as patient education. In the dental
field for seven years, she graduated from OSU in 1999 with
a Bachelor's of Science degree in dental hygiene. She loves
general dentistry because she gets to work with a variety
of patients, from children to seniors. Patients appreciate
her friendliness and that she takes great pride in her work.
She lives with her husband and two sons, Isaac and Tyler.

Casandra "Sandy" Zech, RDH -- Dental Hygienist
In
the dental field for 16 years, Sandy loves working with all
different types of patients, from the young and old and helping
them all attain good oral hygiene. She performs patient education,
prophylaxis, fluoride and sealant placement, and helps with
periodontal therapy. A graduate of Ohio State University
with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene, she
is known for being friendly, a great conversationalist, and
how much she loves her job. Married and with a son, Eric,
and a cat Cleo, she is a scrap booker and loves to watch
her son do his karate.

Erica Rhodes, RDH -- Dental Hygienist
Erica graduated from The Ohio State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. As a recent graduate she is very excited to be working as part of our team in her first permanent position. Erica really enjoys getting to know all of her patients, and making new friends everyday. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, her newlywed husband, and their two Chihuahuas, Archie and Eddie.

Ashley Reeves -- Dental Assistant
In
the dental field for four years, Ashley enjoys meeting and
getting to know the patients as she assists the doctor. She
is a graduate of Madison Plains High School and Columbus
Para-Professional Institute. Recently married, Ashley is
a fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets, an NHL hockey team, NASCAR,
and likes playing softball.
